This is a pre-bolting torque type nut that incorporates a nylon washer into the female thread part of the nut, allowing the male thread of the bolt to form a female thread in that area, creating a friction fit that generates a large friction force. Since a nylon material (66 nylon) is used for the anti-loosening mechanism, its fatigue strength under load is higher than that of metal, allowing for several repeated uses.
